The HUB in West Lafayette is a revitalization of the old Chauncey Hill shopping center. We supported redevelopment by excavating a 75,000 CY basement for a new mixed-use high-rise featuring student housing, a parking garage, and ground-floor retail. 

Atlas partnered with the retained earth contractor to install sheeting walls to protect adjacent sites from deep excavation. We were responsible for footer excavation and backfilling, as well as the installation of water, sanitary, and storm systems.

Unique Challenges

Deep excavation in a dense urban corridor required close coordination to protect neighboring properties and maintain safe operations. The scale of the basement dig, combined with concurrent foundation and utility work, demanded precise planning to keep all phases moving efficiently within an active campus community.
